The Icehouse – 104 E. Doty Ave.

Located in downtown Summerville, next to the railroad tracks, you can enjoy the speak easy vibe of The Icehouse. Inside this 1904 building, they are serving up eclectic, farm to table southern fare. Sweet tea vinaigrette, pecan friend porkchops and bourbon pecan pie? Yes please! And that’s just some of the fantastic food you’ll find. Wednesday nights you can listen to live Jazz while you dine. Lowcountry Fish Camp – 903 Central Ave.

If you are looking for a “laid back, rustic and eclectic restaurant and bar” serving local seafood, then this is it! Lowcountry Fish Camp has been voted readers’ choice for best seafood in the Summerville Journal Scene for good reason. Their menu consists of plenty of traditional Lowcountry fare as well as some items with a twist! For example, the Camp Roll: shrimp and grit spring rolls with tasso and pepper jack cheese! Or maybe start with the gouda mac and cheese bites and then try the fried duck legs!

Montreux Bar & Grill – 127 W Richardson Ave.

Located in a beautiful building in downtown Summerville, dating back to 1862, Montreux is a great place to catch a show or enjoy some great eats! The origin of this name alone is enough to pique your interest! It’s all on their website but here’s a hint, “Smoke on the Water”.

The menu at Montreux ranges from wings and tacos to specialties like their chicken schnitzel. Did we mention the chicken and waffle sliders with a pecan whiskey and bacon aioli?

To pay homage to their musically inspired name, Montreux brings in live musicians “of every imaginable style” every Thursday to Monday. And there’s never a cover charge! They’ve won numerous awards over the years including but not limited to “Best Hangout”, “Best Brunch” and “Best Seafood”.

Myles and Jun Yakitori Japanese Char Grill – 710 Bacons Bridge Rd.

Don’t be fooled by its strip mall location, this place was ranked #33 in Yelp’s 100 top places to eat in 2019! It’s one of only two Lowcountry restaurants to make this list! You’ll enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine in a space filled with city-life ambience. Featured favorites include Beef Asparagus Rolls, Kamo (Duck Breast), Yakitori (skewered chicken) and Wagyu Beef.
