Bluegrass and family fun at the Harvest Festival

UPDATE ON 11-5-21: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED.

Here is the message from Charleston County Parks:

“Due to expected inclement weather, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tomorrow’s Harvest Festival at Johns Island County Park. The event will not be rescheduled this year, but we do plan to have the event return in November 2022.”

Join Charleston County Parks for a celebration of all things fall! Take your family to the Harvest Festival at Johns Island County Park on Saturday, November 6th. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. there will be a foot-stompin’ showcase of local bluegrass bands. And of course there will be festival food including Southern barbecue, boiled peanuts and kettle corn. You can get a jump on your holiday shopping by purchasing unique hand-made items at the crafter’s market.

This year, there’s even a turkey shoot for kids! Don’t worry, no turkeys will be harmed in this archery-target showdown. Frozen turkeys will be awarded to the male and female with the highest scores. Competitors must be between ages 8 to 17. Kids can also take part in pumpkin painting, horse jumps and even more fun thanks to the Charleston County Public Library.

Admission is $8 per person. Kids 12 and under and Gold Pass holders are admitted free. All activities are free with festival admission. Food and beverages will be available for an additional fee.
