Time to get a Taste of Folly Beach

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Lowcountry Weekend) - It’s everybody’s favorite weekend on Folly Beach. The Taste of Folly is back! The main event, Savory Saturday, will take over Center Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 14. Folly favorites will be serving up their best dishes and showing off their skills in live demonstrations. There will also be the annual hot dog eating and oyster shucking contests and a “One Pot Showdown” Chili Cook-Off. Live bands, more than 50 arts and crafts vendors and a kids area will ensure there’s fun for the whole family. Admission is $10 ahead of time and $15 at the door. Folly residents and kids under 12 get in for free.

In addition to the street festival, you can take part in the “Virtual Taste Passport.” Purchase a passport, visit participating locations and scan their QR code to be entered into drawings. The more places you visit, the more chances you’ll have to win. You could walk away with some great prizes like overnight stays on the beach, golf cart and kayak rentals, gift cards and more!

Get the weekend started early and check out the Folly Cocktail Competition 7 a.m.- 10 p.m. on Friday night, January 13. It’s a battle of the bartenders showcasing the beach’s best mixologists and most delicious craft cocktails. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
