CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - There are several pre-Valentine’s Day events in-store, a special 5k and vigils being held this weekend in the Lowcountry.
The Cupid’s Undie Run will take place this Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. on Folly Beach, and runners here in the Lowcountry will come together for a day of jogging and dancing. The Cupid’s Undie Run supports those affected by NF, a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body. Registration is open, and you can also feel free to donate to the cause.
The International African American Museum is hosting its second zoom seminar this Saturday as part of the Black History Month series. This week’s seminar is titled Getting Started with Lowcountry Genealogy. Click here to register.
The 15th Annual Cupid’s Chase 5k will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at James Island County Park. Funds for the 5K will support housing and employment for people with disabilities. Runners, walkers and joggers alike can all come out for the event, and you can help fundraise for the cause once you have register. Every participant will receive a Cupid’s Chase love theme Under Armour T-Shirt, a finisher medal and a Cupid’s Chase-themed swag bag.
Holy City Brewing will be throwing an oyster roast alongside their annual Holy City Valentine’s Day Vendor Market on Sunday. Holy City Brewing is offering two ticket packages: a general admission ticket gets you all-you-can-eat oysters along with a can of beer, the second ticket package will offer the same as the first along with a Bubba Blade oyster shucker. You also have the option to choose a VIP Picnic Table for you and nine of anyone of your choosing.
The Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary’s Candlelight Vigil will be held this Saturday, Feb. 11. Hallie Hill wants everyone to gather at their Angel’s Crossing memorial site to pay tribute to animals you have loved and lost and carry in your heart each day. Anyone is welcome to come out to the event and share their loving pet memories.
