CHARLESTON, S.C. (Lowcountry Weekend) - The return of a highly popular festival, a fishing tournament and Charleston’s Restaurant of the week are all happening this weekend.
The Charleston Beerfest is back with more breweries, music, acts, food, games and activities.
This Saturday at Riverfront Park in North Charleston come out and pair your beer with great food and gifts from the vendor village. All proceeds from the festival benefit Palmetto Community Care and the festival itself is helping those living with HIV/AIDS here in the community. A week of general admission tickets are still available.
Charleston County Parks Cast Off Fishing Tournament at the Mount Pleasant Pier this Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
No preregistration is required, and these tournaments are held at the Mount Pleasant and Folly Beach Pier on a variety of dates. Anyone can register onsite on the mornings of each tournament.
The prize categories include Biggest 3 by Weight, Biggest Youth Catch (12 & under) and Best 5 Fish Total Weight. An adult chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under and tournaments are held rain or shine. Click here for the 2023 tournament schedule.
If you’re looking for something more educational to do with the kids this weekend, learn how to become a Nature Protector at the Dill Sanctuary.
Get your hands dirty with activities and experiments including an experiment to clean up an oil spill, creating seed bombs, and building a pollinator house. This program is for ages 6 and up and registration is required. Ticket prices for the event are:
- Ages 13 & Up: $10
- Military: $9
- Youth (ages 3-12) & Seniors (ages 60+):$8
- Fishing Pass Members: $5
If you love food, Charleston’s Restaurant Week is back! Over 50 restaurants around the Lowcountry are participating including popular spots like Indaco, Halls, and many more. Each restaurant offers a specially selected menu to enjoy.
