CHARLESTON, S.C. (Lowcountry Weekend) - Celebrations of music, food, art and poetry, and even a celebration with a Ferris wheel. We have events already lined up for you to keep you busy around town.
The kickoff for the MOJA Arts Festival has already begun and you can join in on the celebration in Charleston recognizing Black arts, culture and contributions.
You can experience everything from music, food, dance, poetry, theater, storytelling, crafts and family activities representing African-American and Caribbean contributions. The Moja Arts Festival will offer events all weekend.
On Saturday, you can experience ‘Paradise Blue’ by Art Forms & Theater Concepts, Inc. at Cannon Street Arts Center. Or Sunday, experience ‘Wedding Band’ by Village Rep. Co at Threshold Repertory Theater.
Tickets vary by event and tonight you can join the fun with a Reggae Block Dance at Hampton Park tonight from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Find all the events for the festival here.
Folly Beach will continue its 50-year celebration this weekend with classic carnival rides. Along with classic carnival rides, there will be a Ferris wheel overlooking the ocean. There will also be food, art, craft vendors, live music, kids’ activities and more. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow.
Tickets are $15 each online or $20 at the doors but if you live on Folly Beach, you can get in for free with your IDs.
This week’s Friday Night Lights Game of the Week is Ashley Ridge at Fort Dorchester. You can also catch the highlights for Cross at St John’s playing tonight.
