CHARLESTON, S.C. (Palmetto Life) – If the Old Farmer’s Almanac is correct about this winter, above-average snowfall and colder-than-normal temperatures may have people in other parts of the nation looking for a warmer retreat.
A new WalletHub study places Charleston in the top 10 best warm destinations for winter travel this year.
WalletHub compared nearly 70 of the largest U.S. metro areas grouped by warm and cold weather, according to a release. Each was analyzed based on 37 key metrics, primarily the expense and hassle of traveling to each location as well as weather forecasts, safety and variety of activities.
Charleston ranked sixth on their list behind top-ranked Las Vegas, then San Diego, Austin, Dallas and San Antonio. Charleston was the only southeastern city to rank in the top 10.
